Smart Planning Leads to Smart Giving

A bequest can be made through your will or living trust and can result in tax savings to your estate. In your will, you may designate a specific gift, a percentage of your estate or the remainder after specific distributions are made. Your attorney can advise you on the many ways to leave the Albany Public Schools Foundation a gift while saving your estate taxes of providing for a survivor or both.

Planned gifts include bequests, trusts, and other gifts. Planned gifts can be funded with many different types of assets, including securities, real estate, CDs, and retirement assets. One of the most common planned gifts is a bequest from a donor’s will or estate.
