It’s more than just a backpack.
We are excited to be rolling out a new program to ensure that students and teachers have the resources they need for success. Peely’s Teacher Supply House will provide school and classroom supplies to teachers at no cost. These are items that teachers often have to buy with their own money. In these challenging economic times, many families struggle to afford the basic necessities that students need for school. When students come to class without the supplies they need, teachers fill the gap.
Greater Albany Public Schools teachers for Kindergarten through third grade can now register to shop for free at Peely’s Teacher Supply House! Be sure to use your GAPS email address so we can verify your status. Teachers can order online once per semester. If you have questions or need more information, email peely@albanypsf.org.
Peely’s Teacher Supply House accepts donations of new school, office, and art supplies, and other learning materials that are suitable for classrooms. Please check the list of items we currently accept/do not accept below. We update this list frequently based on current inventory and whether we can safely store the items. We do not accept items that are not suitable for a classroom, or that are broken, damaged, dirty, or in poor condition.

New backpacks, spiral notebooks, composition notebooks, #2 pencils, colored pencils, crayons, pencil cases, glue bottles, glue sticks, rulers, erasers, pencil cap erasers, 2-pocket folders, adult and child scissors, permanent markers, dry erase markers, washable markers, highlighters, and notebook filler paper.
Graph paper, calculators, protractors, compasses, puzzles, games, workbooks, posters, building blocks.
We accept art and craft supplies! Art paper (construction, scrapbooking, drawing, etc.), drawing pads, watercolor pads, oil pastels, paints (acrylic, tempera, watercolors), paint brushes, ink pads, stamps, fancy art markers, clay, glitter and glitter glue, beads, foam sheets and shapes, feathers, puff balls, felt, yarn, embroidery floss, popsicle sticks, craft kits and sets, small art tools, canvas boards, etc. We do not accept fabric sample books.
Post-it notes, whiteboard erasers and sprays, electric pencil sharpeners, tape (scotch, masking, packaging), staples, binder clips, paper clips, thumbtacks, White-out/correction tape, rubber bands, clipboards, tape dispensers, staplers, 1 or 3 hole punches, sheet protectors, standard-size folders and hanging files, note pads and project folders. We are currently accepting desk organizers (in and out trays, etc.). We are not accepting binders or legal-size file folders, hanging files, expanding files, etc.
