Serve on an APSF Committee!

Sustainable Funding

The Sustainable Funding Committee ensures stable funding for the Foundation’s programs and long-term goals. It oversees fundraising initiatives and develops donor campaigns to secure ongoing financial support, including estate and charitable planning.

Financial Management Committee

The Financial Management Committee oversees the Foundation’s financial transactions and investments, ensuring accountability and effective resource utilization. It develops financial policies, keeps the Board informed of the Foundation’s financial status, and collaborates with the Governance Committee to ensure compliance.

Allocations Committee

The purpose of the Program Allocations Committee is to administer the Foundation’s programs and oversee any sub-committees responsible for allocating funds for such programs. The Allocations Committee is responsible for setting the standards and procedures for each of these programs in accordance with the Foundation’s vision and mission. Primary responsibilities include reviewing classroom grant applications and recommending distribution of funds to enrich and enhance learning opportunities.

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee manages the Foundation’s scholarship program for graduates of Greater Albany Public Schools. It sets the application timeline, reviews submissions, recommends recipients to the Board, and establishes criteria and processes for awarding scholarships.

Governance Committee

The Governance Committee ensures proper compliance and performance of the Board, focusing on enhancing the Foundation’s quality and viability. It develops policies and bylaws, defines roles and responsibilities, and facilitates education and orientation for Board members.

Peely’s Teacher Supply House Committee

The purpose of the Peely’s Teacher Supply House Committee is to manage the implementation and operation of the teacher resource store. Ongoing duties will include assistance with: supply drives and procurement, inventory management of supplies, recruitment and coordination of additional volunteers, and facilitating teacher order pickups.

iCelebrate Kids

The iCelebrate Kids Benefit Gala is a dinner/auction fundraiser to support the activities and programs of the Albany Public Schools Foundation. The evening includes a catered dinner, silent and live auction, dessert dash, and wine pull as well as featured music and projects from Greater Albany Public School District students. The committee is responsible for logistics, marketing, and volunteer planning for this event.

iSwim for Kids

The iSwim for Kids event allows students to obtain pledges while swimming at Albany Community Pool, with proceeds supporting both their schools and the Foundation’s classroom grants program. The committee manages logistics, marketing, and volunteer coordination for this annual fundraiser.

iRun for Kids

Each March, over 600 runners gather in Albany for the annual iRun for Kids race. This event starts and finishes at West Albany High School stadium and includes a Little Leprechaun Dash, 5K, and 10 mile race. The committee is responsible for logistics, marketing direction and volunteer planning for this event.
