About Us

The mission of the Foundation is to generate and distribute resources that enrich and enhance education opportunities for all students, encourage teachers to implement innovative educational programs, and award scholarships to Albany Public School District students. The Foundation’s Board of Directors recognize that this is best accomplished by a combined commitment and collaboration with the school district, the school board, businesses, individuals, and other organizations in the community.

The Albany Public Schools Foundation is a registered 501(c) 3 with the IRS and State of Oregon. Donations are tax deductible to the extent of current tax law. Our offices are located at Clover Ridge School, 2953 Clover Ridge Rd. Northeast #10, Albany, OR 97322. The office phone number is 541-979-2773.

Our Strategic Plan

The Albany Public Schools Foundation will secure resources from various community sources to support Albany Public School District educational and enrichment programs for which school funds are not available. These programs will stimulate excellence in and mobilize community support for enhancing the quality of education in the District. The Foundation will inform the community about the strengths and innovative programs in the public schools to build confidence in the schools and encourage community and business financial and non-financial support.

Albany Public Schools Foundation was formed and incorporated in 1984 by a group of concerned citizens to help meet the educational needs of youth in the Greater Albany Public School District. With an initial donation of $500, the Foundation was financially established and has flourished with the generous support of local community leaders and businesses. From the initial donation, the Foundation’s assets have grown to a total of $4.6 million as of fiscal year-end June 30, 2023. The Foundation manages over $2.3 million in endowments that have been primarily established for scholarship purposes through bequests and other planned gifts.

Currently, the Albany Public Schools Foundation’s board of directors is made up of 21 members. These dedicated individuals include active and retired teachers and administrators, local business leaders and dedicated community members.

Our Impact

The Foundation’s impact is realized through classroom grants to teachers, enrichment grants to principals, the Student Assistance Program, suicide prevention funding, and scholarships to graduating seniors. This past year, the Foundation awarded the following:
