Peely the Apple is the Mascot of the Albany Public Schools Foundation.
We love taking him to all sorts of different events, school assemblies to talk about iSwim and iRun, and being out in the community! He is a friendly face that helps kids and students connect with the APSF.
We have named two of our programs after him: Peely’s Teacher Supply House, and Peely’s Honor Roll. as well as our monthly digital newsletter – Keeping Up With Peely.
Our logo is a red apple, and we wanted to help bring some fun to it and help relate to kids better!
It depends on the event! It is usually one of our staff members.
Well, since Peely is an apple, you can use any pronouns! He/She/They/It, any is fine!
We adopted Peely in 2023, and have since brought him to life!
Nope! Peely just smiles and waves and looks cute.
Peely has an odd body shape, so hugs aren’t as easy as hugging a friend. But high fives are totally okay!
Unfortunately no, his eyes are stuck looking to the left. Who ever is in the costume has a small area out the mouth to see. (So Peely doesn’t have great eyesight).
Absolutely! We love a good photo op. If you’d like to get your photo with Peely, just ask! If you post a photo with Peely on your socials, please tag the APSF so we can see too!

Let’s talk! The answer to that is, Maybe.
GAPS schools/events will take higher priority.
If requesting to come to a business event, a donation to the APSF is appreciated.
